Michael Goheen is a native Texan who grew up in Ft. Worth. Michael has been around horses all his life and worked on numerous Texas ranches as well as in Montana. He has studied under legendary horsemen Ray Hunt and Buster McLaury and continues to learn from clinicians like Buck Brannaman, Leslie Desmond and Lee Smith. He has worked long and hard and put in his time over the years to develop his own unique training style. His passion for horses is apparent when he is training a horse. Whether he is starting a young colt or correcting a problem in a horse, his methods are gentle with a great respect for each individual horse. The colt starting clinic today was wonderful. I went home and worked with my “yearling with an attitude” and she did really well. It’s me that needs to work on my coordination skills! Of course she’s too young for all of today’s lessons but some apply, and I feel inspired to walk my adult horses through the process just to see where we need to work.
